Government and private schools in all seven emirates may register. Each grade and each stream competes as an independent category — students are compared only with peers in the same grade and stream, never across them. يمكن للمدارس الحكومية والخاصة في الإمارات السبع التسجيل. ويتنافس كل صف وكل مسار كفئة مستقلة — فلا يُقارَن الطالب إلا بأقرانه في الصف والمسار نفسيهما.

Three rounds carry the best spellers and readers upward — a written dictation round in school, a video reading-fluency round on the official platform, and one national final in Ras Al Khaimah. ثلاث جولات ترفع أفضل المتهجّين والقارئين — جولة إملاء كتابي في المدرسة، ثم جولة طلاقة قراءة مرئية عبر المنصة الرسمية، ثم نهائي وطني واحد في رأس الخيمة.
Open to all students, held inside the school. Each school runs a fully vocalised written dictation for every grade and stream it enters, then submits its 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners through the School Portal.مفتوحة لجميع الطلبة وتُقام داخل المدرسة. تُجري كل مدرسة إملاءً كتابيًا مشكولًا لكل صف ومسار تشارك فيه، ثم تسلّم أسماء الفائزين بالمراكز الأول والثاني والثالث عبر بوابة المدارس.
Only approved 1st-place winners take part. On the single official recording day, the school coordinator starts each student's supervised live recording from the School Portal; the vocalised text appears only when recording begins.يشارك فيها الفائزون بالمركز الأول المعتمدون فقط. في يوم التسجيل الرسمي الواحد، يبدأ منسق المدرسة تسجيل كل طالب مباشرةً وتحت الإشراف من بوابة المدارس؛ ولا يظهر النص المشكول إلا لحظة بدء التسجيل.
National finalists meet face-to-face before the judging panel: written dictation with full tashkeel, then reading fluency to decide the three podium places in every category.يلتقي المتأهلون وجهًا لوجه أمام لجنة التحكيم: إملاء كتابي بالتشكيل الكامل، ثم طلاقة قراءة لتحديد المراكز الثلاثة في كل فئة.
Schools submit the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of every grade and stream through the School Portal, with names exactly as on the Emirates ID.تسلّم المدارس أسماء الفائزين بالمراكز الثلاثة الأولى في كل صف ومسار عبر بوابة المدارس، كما هي في الهوية الإماراتية.
2nd and 3rd place winners receive digital certificates only; Round 2 access is granted only to approved 1st-place winners.يحصل الفائزون بالمركزين الثاني والثالث على شهادات رقمية فقط، ويقتصر الدخول إلى الجولة الثانية على الفائزين بالمركز الأول المعتمدين.
In the famous English spelling bees, students spell words aloud letter by letter, because English words are often written quite differently from how they sound. Arabic is different: writing and sound are closely connected, which is why dictation (Imlaa) has always been the authentic way to assess spelling in Arabic. When a student writes down what they hear, they are performing "spelling" in its truest sense — turning sounds into the correct letters. في مسابقات التهجئة الإنجليزية الشهيرة يتهجى الطالب الكلمة حرفًا حرفًا بصوت عالٍ، لأن الكلمة الإنجليزية كثيرًا ما تُكتب بطريقة تختلف عن نطقها. أما العربية فلغة يرتبط فيها الرسم بالصوت ارتباطًا وثيقًا، ولذلك كان الإملاء هو الوسيلة الأصيلة لقياس التهجئة فيها؛ فحين يكتب الطالب ما يسمع، فهو يمارس «التهجئة» بمعناها الحقيقي: تحويل الأصوات إلى حروف صحيحة.
That does not make Arabic spelling easy — it has its own fine details that distinguish true mastery: ولا يعني ذلك أن الإملاء العربي سهل — بل فيه من الدقائق ما يميز المتقن من غيره:
In Arabic, reading is closely connected to spelling. When a student reads a fully vocalised word accurately, they follow its letters and diacritics and pronounce it as written. This is supported by Arabic dictionaries, which connect reading with following words and pronouncing them, as well as the root meaning of gathering and joining. في العربية، لا تنفصل القراءة عن التهجئة؛ فحين يقرأ الطالب كلمة مضبوطة قراءة صحيحة، فإنه يتتبع حروفها وحركاتها وينطقها كما كُتبت، وهو معنى تؤيده المعاجم حين تربط القراءة بتتبع الكلمات والنطق بها، وبأصل المادة الدال على الجمع والضم.
For this reason, reading fluency in this competition is a form of reading-based spelling. It complements written dictation rather than replacing it. The competition therefore assesses the student's ability to write the word correctly and read it accurately according to its vocalisation. لذلك تُعد طلاقة القراءة هنا صورة من الاستِهجاء القرائي؛ فهي تُكمل الإملاء الكتابي ولا تستبدله. فالمسابقة تقيس قدرة الطالب على أن يكتب الكلمة صحيحة، ويقرأها صحيحة وفق ضبطها.
Round 2 and final texts are never shared in advance; the Round 2 text appears only when recording starts.لا تُشارَك نصوص الجولة الثانية والنهائي مسبقًا؛ ولا يظهر نص الجولة الثانية إلا لحظة بدء التسجيل.
Recorded in school on the official day, under a declared supervisor, with a server-side timestamp — no pauses, no repeats.تُسجَّل داخل المدرسة في اليوم الرسمي تحت مشرف مُقِرّ، بختم زمني من الخادم — دون توقف أو تكرار.
Access opens only through the School Portal for students approved by the organising committee — one recording per student.لا يُفتح الدخول إلا من بوابة المدارس لطلبة اعتمدتهم اللجنة المنظمة — تسجيلة واحدة لكل طالب.
Winners' names are entered once, verified by the school, reviewed by the committee, and used on all certificates and records.تُدخَل أسماء الفائزين مرة واحدة، وتراجعها المدرسة ثم اللجنة، وتُستخدم في كل الشهادات والسجلات.
All Round 2 recordings and final performances are assessed by the RAK DOK judging committee; no school marks its own students.تُقيِّم لجنة تحكيم دائرة رأس الخيمة للمعرفة جميع التسجيلات وأداء النهائي؛ ولا تُصحّح أي مدرسة لطلبتها.
Student data and recordings are used solely for the competition, in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (PDPL).تُستخدم بيانات الطلبة وتسجيلاتهم لأغراض المسابقة حصرًا وفق المرسوم بقانون اتحادي رقم (45) لسنة 2021 بشأن حماية البيانات الشخصية.

Everything a school does — registering, submitting Round 1 winners, and recording Round 2 — happens in one place: the School Portal. Registration takes a few minutes and the coordinator receives the school's access code by email.كل ما تفعله المدرسة — التسجيل، وتسليم أسماء فائزي الجولة الأولى، وتسجيل الجولة الثانية — يتم في مكان واحد: بوابة المدارس. يستغرق التسجيل دقائق، ويصل رمز دخول المدرسة إلى بريد المنسق.
The Arabic coordinator registers once — name as on the licence, coordinator and principal details.يسجّل منسق اللغة العربية مرة واحدة — الاسم كما في الرخصة وبيانات المنسق والمدير.
Run the written dictation for every grade and stream in school using the official guide.أجرِ الإملاء الكتابي لكل صف ومسار داخل المدرسة وفق الدليل الرسمي.
Enter the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place of each category in the School Portal, names as on the Emirates ID.أدخل المراكز الأول والثاني والثالث لكل فئة في بوابة المدارس، بالأسماء كما في الهوية الإماراتية.
The committee reviews the names; approved 1st-place winners appear in your portal, and certificates are issued for all three places.تراجع اللجنة الأسماء؛ فيظهر الفائزون بالمركز الأول المعتمدون في بوابتك، وتُصدر شهادات للمراكز الثلاثة.
